Garden Ponds
Many people are now concentrating on improving the look and landscape of their gardens. Garden ponds are a popular improvement. A garden pond can be any size and there are many accessories and decorations available to add to a pond; thus they can be modified to suit anyone's taste. Garden ponds can contain rocks, water, plants and/or fish. Koi fish are especially popular in garden ponds. The ponds require a certain amount of maintenance depending on its contents. They need to have pumps, bacteria and filters in order to keep the water relatively clean. Some garden pond plants need to be rooted under the water, others at the edge and the rest do not root. It is important to find out all the information on plants and fish before installing a pond to give a relative idea of how much work is involved.
Garden ponds also need protection from the sun and the wind to prevent excessive water evaporation. Leaks can occur which can be very costly. Ponds need a lot of maintenance and effort but the outcomes are generally worth it. Popular additions to garden ponds include water features such as miniature waterfalls.
