What Are Ponds?
There are two basic qualities that qualify a pond. Firstly it is a shallow water body. Secondly its circumference is spread over a few distances though this is not the case all times.
Similarly it is also possible for people to walk across the ponds without having to fear of drowning. In many cases the water does not even come above the knee level of the person. However as explained above there are always some exceptions as few ponds are deep. But in any case they are not very deep like a river.
There are several advantages of ponds. It fosters the ecological balance. It does not allow water seepage from its outlet. It is comparatively safe when compared with a river or lake on most occasions. It boasts a lovely look and can be an ideal fit for parks and amusement centers. They have got different name in different places. It continues to be liked by many people. Children love to play around it. It is a pleasant area. There are also ponds constructed exclusively for maintenance of fish or ducks or other creatures. Apart from the natural beauty it looks great when decorated artificially.
