Pond temperatures are up
Many fishing enthusiasts have been watching the weather forecasts anxiously recently. The warm weather (warmer than usual anyway) and the predictions for the current warm weather trend to continue for a while has made some people very happy. While those into hunting are complaining that it is too warm for dogs to chase rabbits and for deer to even move, fishermen could not be happier. The current weather is the best thing they could hope for.
Christmas made a very early start for fishermen waiting for the water surface temperatures to rise over a 60 degrees limit this week. The conditions for fishing couldn't be better according to fishing professionals and those fishing on specific types of fish such as bass and as the warm weather is predicted to continue for at least another week most people are more than ready to take a few days off to go fishing.
In the south the winter is know to be a great fishing season anyway but ten days of warm weather in a row is quite exceptional. Fish like bass are known to be lethargic in cold weather will immediately start looking for food when it gets a bit warmer. The fish move up to shallow waters to find food and that is when it is very easy to catch a great fish, especially because these fish tend to stay in shallow waters till the weather turns colder again.
